We are pleased to announce the gallery's representation of the artist Lara Almarcegui. She has built an artistic practice from the exploration of the material aspects of land and urban space. For the last 20 years she has been working in different cities identifying abandoned and disused places, examining the processes of contemporary transformation brought about by social, political and economic changes. Almarcegui analyses the construction materials used in buildings. She criticises functionality in cities and architecture. A proposal for spaces, but leaving them open, giving them to the public, saying: these places are important because they are an alternative.
