The inherent potentiality that Taxio Ardanaz (Pamplona, 1978) seeks and offers in his practice resembles the definition of "tensor sign" established by Amador Fernandez Savater. A principle of possibility precipitated by a "any sign, normal, serialized" that mobilizes desire, that awakens a sleeping cell ready for adventure: "When activated, the tensor opens a labyrinthine space-time, where possible connections multiply, encounters shine, where we do not quite know where we are going; each tensor opens a new, incomparable labyrinth. (...) it opens the way to the creation of meaning. "2 In this way, in his pictorial and installation proposal, the meanings of the images of cultural collections that are incessantly repeated in our imagination are updated. Embers of fires that are still alive. Plausible lights of history for revolutions to come that cannot be neutralized by power. Possible guides that from the eye and the body mobilized by the aesthetic impulse give tools to deal with new constructions of ways of living.
Taxio Ardanaz (Pamplona 1978) lives and works in Bilbao. He holds a degree in Fine Arts from the University of the Basque Country and has furthered his training with artists and curators such as Julie Mehretu, Esther Ferrer, Itziar Okariz, Andrés Duque, Miroslaw Balka and Peio Aguirre.
